Proper behavioral interpretation matters.

Confidence ≠ Competence. Loudest voice is usually the weakest. Screamers and table pounders are compensating. Insults and cutting remarks are diversions. Outrage signals confusion. Guy who has it all figured out knows little.
Recently talked with someone who used the phrases "I don't know," "I don't understand," and "I was wrong" all during a 30 minute conversation. I walked away thinking she might be the smartest person I've ever met.
Need more:
1) "I don't know."
2) "I don't understand."
3) "I was wrong."
4) "It's my fault."
5) "Can you tell me more?"

And less:
1) "Actually,..."
2) "You have no idea..."
3) "No need to get upset."
4) "One time I..."
5) "Here's the deal..."

We’ve been exploring this topic @adventur_es for 3-4 years now. In addition to an information advantage and a large sample size, transaction costs and governance are crucial components in private transactions.
These two additional components, transaction costs and governance, comprise friction that is 1000X higher than public markets. Quant hedge funds can identify and purchase a stock in a blink at almost no cost and with no governance function, then sell it just as easily.
PE must hire talented (expensive) people to find, negotiate, diligence, document, govern, and eventually created a negotiated sale. This hardship is costly, but also provides opportunities for alpha.

Like it or not, EBITDA is the standard profit proxy and default valuation metric in the private markets. Expectations are always quoted in EBITDA, or adjusted EBITDA.

The Kavanaugh hearing just got started and there's already chaos. Dems are interrupting Grassley as he starts to read his opening statement to protest the latest production of docs right before the hearing. Blumenthal is moving to adjourn. Grassley says they will proceed.
It began with Sen. Harris jumping in as soon as Grassley began, to say they had not been given the opportunity to review documents. Sen. Blumenthal pressed to adjourn. Now Sen. Booker is calling for time to debate the process.

The topic of nazis was introduced by the person with as usual, the loudest voice in the room (read my tweet again), with a known agenda way outside the perspective of ‘autism support group’ or the video we watched. Speaking of perspectives, why the anonymity?
Please, don’t answer, I’m no longer interested here.
The video was referred to (among other insults) as “insipid shit” so there were no grounds for comparison to anything at all, the rants were lost on the group, resulting in alienation and harm. Yes, perspective is crucial: A support group is meant to support people, not agendas.
