Make no mistake—the authorization in Section 1225 of the #NDAA authorizes our military to go to war with Iran.

It lacks a clear objective or goal for our troops to achieve, circumvents Congress’s constitutional responsibility to declare war, and provides unending authorization to ‘counter Iran.’ bit.ly/2x3wd3b

Section 1225 gives after-the-fact license for what is already happening in the Middle East, like ongoing US support of Saudi in #Yemen & our role in #Syria. These heartbreaking wars have created millions of refugees & left death, destruction & great human suffering in their wake

This dangerous provision gives total authority to the Administration to keep US troops in the Middle East, as long as they deem necessary- an intention clearly stated by the warhawks of this Administration like Nikki Haley, John Bolton, and Mike Pompeo. bit.ly/2x3wd3b

Recklessly passing Section 1225 also dumps more taxpayer dollars in costly, counterproductive wars instead of investing in rebuilding our communities right here at home bit.ly/2x3wd3b
