There are literally farms in this country offering $14.50/hr, health benefits, subsidized housing, vacation days, and 401(k) plans for menial laborers... and American citizens aren't going for it.

Don't ever tell me undocumented immigrants "are taking our jobs".
This is all true. Mind-blowing. Check it out: latimes.com/projects/la-fi…
It seems you can't go into any restaurant or hotel in this country, whether it's in Mississippi or New York, without running into an undocumented immigrant working their ass off in a kitchen or cleaning rooms because white Americans feel that's beneath them.
In 2009, about 8% of our military were foreign-born persons, many of them still not citizens. In fact, we actually deport military veterans--women and men who pledged their lives to this country, many of them bleeding for it--back to countries they've never really known.
Undocumented immigrants are not stealing "our" jobs. They're doing the jobs available to American citizens that those citizens feel are beneath them. They're doing work that white citizens in this country feel doesn't match their level of entitlement.
There is no wide scarcity of jobs in this country. There is no theft of jobs in this country. If anything, there's a scarcity of hard work and responsibility and humility. There's a scarcity of character.
Undocumented immigrants are doing labor that is essential to the vitality of our country. Instead of kidnapping their children and putting them in oversized dog kennels, we should be welcoming them with open arms for doing the shit white Americans are apparently too good to do.
