Barack Obama supporters picked him because he wanted to help people regardless of who they were.

Donald Trump supporters picked him because he wanted to hurt people who weren’t like them.

Why we pick our leaders says a lot about our ideology.
Obama: People with pre-existing conditions got health care. Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Gay marriage became legal. Affirmative action school policies.

Trump: Muslim ban. Family separation policy. LGBT discrimination. Sabotaging health care of poor/sick. Uptick in hate crimes.
The inclusive aim of Barack Obama and the discriminatory intent of Donald Trump became more than just campaign rhetoric. Have heard many conservatives say that Obama made race relations worse while claiming that Trump isn’t a bigot, but the facts say otherwise.

So when we liberals scoff at the term “liberal media,” stuff like this tweet by CBS News is why. The mainstream media often adopts the framing used by Republicans and right-wing media instead of phrasing things in a more factual, objective way.

Marco Rubio spent yesterday defending Trump, who calls the free press “the enemy of the people,” against the media. Today, Rubio is more concerned with a journalist saying fuck than journalists dying.
Marco Rubio felt it was more important to use this tragedy to pander to the evangelical base than to tweet support for the victims of a newspaper mass shooting. Can’t he drop the family values act long enough to show some humanity, especially after Parkland happened in his state?
This is also a good time to point out that Marco Rubio has received millions from the NRA during his career.

Think some in the media should probably stop forecasting and polling Florida.

Normally, if people want to make complete fools of themselves, over and over, I'd say, "Do you."

But you mislead a lot of people, including those we all know you agree with and are trying to help.
Florida is a (slightly pink) battleground state, one decided by low single digits. That not only has been the case with actual outcomes, but our SBDP polls never showed a contender with more than a 4-point lead in Florida. And they won't get one if both candidates are acceptable.
Btw, that was Rick Scott and Andrew Gillum, as you all know. Neither ever had more than a 4-point lead, at best.

Bill Nelson never got better than even. Never. Think, folks. He just started to return fire. He was able to close it. But he never led Rick Scott.
