So, I'm off. I can't anymore. I've no faith in people's intellectual honesty. I'm gobsmacked at the vomit coming from so many people tearing apart Israel's nation state. People around the world- and yes here in Israel being dishonest about it's contents & ignoring it's context.
Israel has many laws. Laws that guarantee right and freedoms. This law, years in debate, focuses on the Jewish character of the only Jewish state in the world. Democracy isn't being debated here and comparing it to any other country is foolish. Should Arabic be an official lang?
I think so. I hope it changes. But I also understand that the Jewish state having Hebrew as it's one official language (English was also not included) is the realization of a LEGITIMATE dream of return to a homeland. I know, people don't think we deserve it. Or they think
We should give up our own dreams to make everyone else happy. Well, I disagree with that. I also know that reality here is difficult. The situation in which Israel was birthed, learned to crawl, and now walk is one under fire. Constant threat and ridicule by our own and others.
I can't even express how I view those who talk, tweet & moralize ad nauseum- many of whom have never stepped foot here or taken a ME pol course or are so steeped in misguided Jewish guilt they can't tell their foot from their tuchus. But worse than all are those who well know
That there is much more going on here than translated & pondered words, who feed their need for moral high by screaming about Israel's flaws. We who are here & love this country will steer it the way it needs to go. All of us will fix it with love & your hate will not find ground
