Sitting here in Denver waiting for a new plane (yay for the pilot who refused a broken one), & enjoying video of our fun bison encounter after filming wrapped yesterday. Growing up in CO we visited bison farms on school trips, but this was new to my NYC colleagues! #nature
Yes, that growl is from the bison. It's the sound you get if a tiger and a cow got busy.

(This is why I'm not a biologist. I would have too much fun laughing at the animals.)
Should've clarified: this was Yellowstone yesterday. I was just connecting through Denver today!

In case you've come across a Chicken Little screaming that the Ring of Fire is going to be "set off" due to the Fiji quake, here are the currently erupting volcanoes in the area. Volcanoes are erupting all day, every day...somewhere. See? No need for alarm, just good #science.
If you download that app (Volcanoes & Earthquakes), you can zoom in and see volcanoes with lower levels of unrest, including dormant & extinct ones. Use knowledge to combat ignorance!
Also, in that picture the little circles are recent earthquakes. Knowledge is power, & makes you look good at dinner parties.

Major takeaway from running for Congress: Unless we reform campaign finance laws to eliminate dark money, the people we get to vote for will continue to largely be the last people we want to hold office.

The system is a runaway train, & it's plowing over honest, good people.
If you want to see what's driving the passage of legislation, follow the money trail. Lobbyists can serve a purpose in educating lawmakers about niche issues, but the way money is thrown around has corrupted that function of the role.
In order to raise enough money to run a legitimate, viable campaign, you need a network of wealth to tap into. The chicken/egg scenario at its worst. You have to have money to get endorsements, & you have to have endorsements to raise money. How does that work if you have a job?

THREAD. I want to talk to you about what it was like to grow up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, as a Roman Catholic, and what's helpful or not helpful to say to folks/communities in times like there where yet another hideous ring of abuse has been exposed.
I grew up in Scranton. It's a heavily Catholic town -- with parishes & parish schools in every neighborhood (at least when I was still growing up), and with most families taking church really seriously. I know my family did. I missed church <10x in my ENTIRE LIFE before college.
I was, myself, a very visibly Catholic kid (I'm now athiest). I served the televised masses at St. Anne's Basilica, "starred" in the weekly children's mass on TV, attended Catholic school, sang in Catholic youth choirs, won the Bishop's Lay Award for my service to the church.

As a person who 300+ shows in my 20s, I’ve been sitting here for an hour trying to figure out how Beyoncé’s team did that show. A one time performance? On a festival stage with one hour to complete load-in? With perfect everything — sound, choreography, CAMERA, live editing…
At least 1,000 people worked that show. And I’m not counting the festival staff. I mean her show. On stage, backstage, load-in, production, filming, streaming. How in the world? How? No, really, how?
Live performance TV shows are *never* this good. All the camera work & switching was finely planned and rehearsed (up to the last song, clearly the last song was not). This was two hours. On a *borrowed* stage. A one time shot. They did this ONCE? What? HOW? Every bit perfect.

New #PA Congressional map is pretty much the best one Democrats could have hoped for. At least 2 pickups in neutral environment, likely ability to win 11 in current D+6 environment. Post coming
PA redraw creates map that is almost entirely drawn from scratch. Huge shifts from 2016 plan all over the place. Dems favored to win 9 seats there in almost any national environment.
(big swings mostly from renumbering, but aggregate differences are clear)
