Great example of how *not* to interpret the statement "everything in science is up for debate". It means "science is a consensus mechanism where there should be no dogma and everything can be challenged using appropriate evidence", not "scientific facts are lies".
It means literally the opposite of "my ideology is as good as your knowledge".
As in, this is not a case of one ideology debating another on an equal footing. Knowledge developped through a century of consensus-building and evidence-collection among thousands of rational humans weighs more than evidence-free ideological arguments.
Precisely because of the "debate" part (consensus-building & evidence collection).
