If you follow me long enough you will know that I am a huge fan of “Packaging” please permit me to share my views in this thread on “Packaging” of Product or Brand.
There are two ways I see Packaging Packaging could be an egg that you don’t know it’s bad until you crack it open or Packaging could be the good egg, you boil or fry and it comes out really good.
There are people who care so much about packaging and I am one of them, what will draw me first is the outer look of your product.
For instance if you sell food, I’m concerned about ur picture quality(if I am ordering online), food arrangement, neatness and all this is in the packaging; whether the food is sweet or not, I don’t know yet but what interest me first is how you package it.
Then I taste the food and it’s not nice. But the fact that i have already fallen in Love with the product because of the packaging i become bias with my judgement. You won’t get 5star rating but your rating won’t be bad still.
Another example is a Brand when I say Brand I mean you. You have to package yourself in the best way for people to take you serious. When you say you are an expert in something whereas you are an amateur, have you packaged yourself? Yes. But is your packaging realistic? No.
Again some people might bring you in and teach you but what’s the probability that you would meet such people?
You have to package a good product and brand, work on the taste of your food, work on the quality of your hair, work on the quality of your products. Ask your customers to give you honest reviews to enable you have a better product that deserves your existing packaging.
This could also apply to your brand(You), do research, read books, learn whatever skill that could match to your already existing packaging.
You don’t have to be an expert in your field or the best before you give a 5star packaging but in my opinion it is wrong to be an amateur with a 5star packaging. So you have to be in between an expert and an amateur to start doing serenren like my Warri people would say.
This tweets could be part of marketing but I am not really focusing on marketing. I just want you to understand my views on Packaging.
Toke Makinwa just launched a new product and the packaging is beautiful. Some people will buy the product not because they use whitening cream or necessarily like Toke Makinwa but because of how beautiful the packaging is.
Toke Makinwa is a brand, she has brought herself to a high level, she has fans... whether her product is good or bad there are people who would still buy it. If you are in between or you have gotten to the expert level, you will have fans or people who will recommend you.
And that is the reason why you have to continue to work on yourself.
