UK government allocates the quotas

When quotas are given to other countries, that's also a decision of the government

If local fishing has suffered it's because the government has long favoured big trawler companies, not because the CFP exists
Small boats make up around 75% of the English fishing fleet

Government allocates them about 3% of the quotas
One super-trawler has access to nearly all the herring quota in the Atlantic and north sea

If you think the problem for local fishermen here is that this trawler is only technically registered in England and is ultimately Dutch-owned then you are a xenophobe
