It's worth noting that the right is simply regurgitating the same playbook they've used for decades to bully the legacy-media into treating them with kid gloves.
It's why, for instance, most mainstream press is scornful of left wing activists but bends over backwards to give us "both sides" of right wing extremism, up to and including soft-focus pieces on neo-Nazis.
Constant caterwauling about "the librul media!" has cowed many in the press into couching almost everything into fuzzy "both sides" nonsense. That serves Republicans nicely. And the extreme right cottoned on. Now they're doing the same to internet-based media.
