so many people spend extra effort to suck, far and above what effort is required to succeed
i would like to ruin a perfect tweet by elaborating on it
i see people expend massive amounts of energy to suck by:

- making excuses
- endless shit-polishing
- refusing to learn anything first
- doing things the hardest way for no reason
- doing way too much
- making a big to-do of “failing”
- dwelling, whining
i’ve seen people polish shit work for a year, then fail, when if they’d only just shipped it right away, it actually would have succeeded because less is more and eyeballs are the best feedback

and i’ve seen them fail by learning how to e.g. launch something then decide not to
the real secret to being world class is to do discard 500 more ideas than you use, without wasting a single breath whining about it

how do you know what to discard? research, reading, looking at the world, and other people’s mistakes
sure, success is hard work but sucking is an endless emotional wringer that, weirdly, takes more time for less result.

“a coward dies a thousand deaths, a hero dies but one”
i say all this as a former sucker, so i know what’s up.
