The American people voted for Trump (so they say) and it is he who they elected to make these decisions. They didn’t vote for his Cabinet to hopefully keep impending doom at bay.

If you want to “save the country” then you would fall on your sword and tell Americans that they have made a grave mistake and that our national security and very existence hangs in the balance.
