While many on the left have been eager to ignore Rachel Mitchell’s conclusions, the facts she found and outlined in her report are indisputable, and highlight the challenge of an accusation with no corroborating evidence or witnesses.

Dr. Ford has not offered a consistent account of when the alleged assault happened. The range of years she has offered has varied widely over the last few months.

Dr. Ford has struggled to identify Judge Kavanaugh as her assailant by name, with records showing inconsistencies. The first record of her identifying Kavanaugh by name came around the time his name was prominently covered in the media.

When speaking to her husband, Dr. Ford has changed her description of the incident to become less specific. Notable inasmuch as her husbands account has been highlighted in media reports as confirmation of the accusations.

Dr. Ford has not offered a consistent account of the assault, including who was at the party.

The shifting accounts of who was present, in addition to the fact that each individual she has named has offered sworn testimony that they don’t recall such a party, raises questions.

Dr. Ford declined to share the therapist notes she shared with the Washington Post with the Senate Juduciary Committee.

“Dr. Ford’s description of the psychological impact raises questions,” including whether her legal team had conveyed the Judiciary Committee’s offer of flying to her in California so she would not be required to fly. Her testimony suggests they did not, which would be a red-flag.
