After seeing how damaged my skin was from travel due to dehydration, switching climates + diets, jetlag etc, I learned to do skincare the Korean way. ~4 month later, my skin has improved a lot and feels LUSH. 🍑

No filter or makeup:
Here's what I'm using these days:

1. MUJI Sensitive Cleansing Oil
2. MUJI Mild Face Soap
3. MUJI Organic Moisturizing Toning Water
4. Salt Spring Soapworks Shea Butter Rose Lotion (day)
5. Cosrx Honey Mask (night)
6. Cosrx pimple batch (breakout SOS)
A couple of notes/learnings:

- I have combination skin. Double-cleansing is so effective here. It may sound like a hassle, but I give myself a face massage while the oil dissolves gunk in the T-zone. It doesn't dry out my cheeks. Then a super mild foam cleanser finishes the job.
- Pimple patches are wonders of science. They are abundant in Asia and I wish they were cheaper here. I'll slap a patch on a wound to protect it from getting further irritated, infecting other parts of the skin and I leave it there soak up excess oils. amazon.ca/Cosrx-acne-pim…
- The philosophy behind Korean skincare is in preventative measures (as with all eastern medicine). I've gotten into the habit of checking in with my skin during the day to feel for its moisture barrier. I carry my toner and lotion around in 30ml bottles. simpleskincarescience.com/dehydrated-ski…
- Expensive != effective. My mom rotates between various $$$ serums and I don't find any of them help my skin. It's better to get familiar with ingredients list, ie. pass on alcohol.

Forgot sunscreen in my list! I use Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream spf50.

Overall, I find Cosrx to have good formulas for acne-prone Asian skin. I get it shipped from Korea via Yesstyle.ca, but for US folks it's faster to get them off Amazon.
What my skin looks like with makeup on:

I've always been a little spooked (but v impressed) by those ~drastic transformation~ asian makeup videos. With better skin now, I found myself needing less to cover it. It saves me time, which I use to play with my red eyeshadows.🔺
It's getting cold and dry so I've made some changes:

1. Using soybean oil based cleanser instead of light mineral oil
2. Skipped foam cleansing in the AM since new toner (3) is also micellar water
3. Son & Park Beauty Water
4. Cosrx snail all in one, a stronger moisture barrier
In case this isn't obvious, skin care is for everyone. It's stupid how the West sell skincare as something luxurious ladies do. Why not be healthier when the knowledge is there? Most of these products are under $20USD thanks to innovation and competition in the Korean market.
