Honestly gutted by this movie. An incredible movie — and one of the best queer movies I’ve seen in a long time. Among other things, it told the story it had to tell regardless of whether other paths would have been, I don’t know, more “hot and sexy.”
Melissa McCarthy and Richard Grant are perfect as Lee and Jack, as is basically every other person with a line in the film — most notably Dolly Wells and the cameo from Anna Deveare Smith, which felt about as real as a moment like that could feel on film.
