Pretty weird to see liberals saying things like “this could be the most important election ever” and “the future of the country is at stake.” That’s usually the wingnut line you hear at CPAC panel discussions and Values Voter Summit keynote speeches.
But it’s not a paranoid delusion this time. Donald Trump has been a wrecking ball on the government, our foreign allies and the security of everyday people. And if Democrats don’t AT LEAST take back control of the House of Representatives, it’s going to get worse. A lot worse.
The future of the country is at stake. For real.

I find it absolutely baffling that Trump's comments about declaring a state of national emergency and using the military to seize land at the border haven't caused a MUCH bigger outcry. This is one of his most disturbing threats yet.
Trump is now playing out the bad ideas of autocrats down through history. A completely phony "crisis" with heavily racist overtones, leading to a massive power grab under the guise of an emergency.
Maybe it's just me, but I think we should take the guy who has the ability to launch nuclear war seriously.

I'll admit I've never been a Corbyn fan, my personal low point was actually the Sky TV special he did just before the Ref

I actually hoped he'd push a pro EU line but instead, he spent more time on rail nationalisation than the EU, it was very depressing
2) the follow up with "we must trigger article 50 immediately" was shocking in itself but it was also the first time I saw Corbyn supporters pushing a "but what he meant was.." to any significant degree. That's the moment I suppose people really got entrenched either side
3) and its easy to understand why Corbyn's supporters feel under siege with the constant attacks.

But as we approach a cliff edge #Brexit in 100 days & Corbyn's limitations are helping to get us there, perhaps its time for a retrospective - maybe everyone was right?

Friends, i have had enough of this whole Judge Kavanaugh situation. Its time to set the record straight. Now the accuser is wanting to only meet with a senate panel without lawyers, and get this, Judge Kavanaugh is to go first? I don't think so. So let me explain what's happening
The democrats know they are going to lose this. So what they want to do is permanently blemish and honest and decent man for life. They want him to be a supreme court judge with this next to his name. This is their master plan. They did it to Clarence Thomas. This is wicked!
The Dems are deliberately setting it up so that the terms will not be agreed to. Then they will say, see they did not want the truth to come out. This is their master plan. Keep moving the goal post until absolutely nothing realistic is asked for. They want to permanently shame!

Other than membership, where do you think the IFA gets its €€€ in the millions?
2/ From the “European Involvement Fund” levy. What’s that, an EU tax? No, despite the name. Irish farmers pay this ‘levy’ on an *opt-out* basis on the sale of livestock, milk & other produce @ €1.50 for every €1,000 sold. Goes mostly to the IFA but also to @icmsa & others.
3/ The levy generated a whopping €4.16m for the IFA in 2016 (1/3 to 1/2 of its income). Is it any wonder they treat the senior lads so well, says you.
