The article conflates asylum and migration - a migrant includes rich white Americans going to work at a bank in Frankfurt - but we don’t think Hillary Clinton is talking about that person, do you?
Lots of European countries have plunging birth rates among the majority white population, and an ageing population make up. I mean look at Italy:

But no, immigration is framed as the problem needing a solution, rather than doing the hard work of outlining the benefits of migrants and anti-racist work. By doing this, once again the views of the far-right are being mainstreamed.
It is absolutely immaterial to vulnerable people whether damaging far-right policies are enacted by a far-right government or a centrist one. The effect is the same, as we have seen in the U.K. with the hostile environment and Windrush and other Home Office sandals.
