Most of us are getting ready for Christmas already. We watch the news from the comfort of our homes & pass judgement on twitter. Remember that some have no break in the service to the nation to ensure you sleep at night. It’s only fair that we are circumspect with our words.
Especially concerning our troops and super heroes on the frontlines battling an ideological and militant warfare. It is understandable that our leaders may have been so unconscionably negligent that in the bid to get at them, our troops get caught in the crossfire.
In ideological warfare, the deal here is not much about firepower or the number of deaths. There are casualties on both sides. But the propaganda is in the creation of fear and loss of trust in the authorities. Once we allow this sink in they’ve won & territories will be gained.
Every government in the world seek to win hearts and minds through propaganda showing the might of their troop and the intelligence of their policing. They invest in movies via Hollywood and you pay for these movies and get conditioned to see them as mighty & greater than you.
Boko Haram is doing the same with those videos you are helping them propagate. As a nation we can not lose territories to them and also lose hearts and minds to them even before they reach other territories physically. We can do better and stand by our country @HQNigerianArmy
Many of us have friends and families on the frontlines. Some believe they are serving their country and contributing their own quota. They have families too and deserves your respect, support and appreciation. Keep them out of the political banters. The Army remains afterwards.
It is our responsibility as citizens to know where to draw the lines. If we can’t appreciate the heroic sacrifices of these valiant soldiers we must not demoralize them. They have enough struggles with the anomalies within the system and the least we can do is regard them.
A time will come we will not remember much about the current ruling party but our institutions will remain even after the reign of several political parties. Nation building is the work of all of us and not the President or the ruling party alone. Let us be responsible.
May God help us all and may the war on terror be won both on the field and in all our minds. There is no place for terror in our country and it takes all our collective will to stamp it out. We must believe in our authorities and stand to repeal & replace what has ceased to work.
I plead with you all to desist from playing the script of the irresponsible political hirelings that ruin institutions to further their agenda. We must never become the demon that we battle. The time to heal is now. Show them how different you are. Enough of the insensitivity.
The Government MUST also be responsible for once and keep our Security institutions from their ignorant politics. Security Chiefs attending political functions is a dangerous precedent for our democracy. Alternative Political parties can’t run against APC, INEC, Army & Police.
It is time to put an end to systemic rigging, voter intimidation, ballot snatching, oppression of voters and intimidation of other political parties. The ruling party & incubent should leave a legacy at least with free and fair election. This is not too much to ask.
Our security institutions @HQNigerianArmy @PoliceNG @inecnigeria must be allowed to serve the nation and not the interest of any political party or politician. They must never be conditioned to any body language. #EndRigging #EndVoterIntimidation #SanitizeOurElectoralProcess
