Breaking:
On @skynews now: if PM does not announce a date for meaningful vote Today Corbyn will announce no confidence vote IN PM
Whilst reporting that some pro Brexit campaigners in yellow jackets were shouting misogynist stuff at Kay and that I was “not British” and “a rapist” ... well done all who helped create this situation. Good job.
PM: I can confirm we will return to the Meaningful Vote debate in week commencing 7 January, and have the vote the following week...
438 current members of this House voted to trigger Article 50 PM points out - suggesting that they should therefore all vote for her deal
“The PM has cynically run down the clock.. a responsible PM would have put this deal to the House this week”, says Corbyn.
So Labour won’t now table the no confidence vote, say they briefed plan before seeing PM’s planned vote.
Blimey - @jeremycorbyn has now tabled a motion of no confidence in the PM - announcing it at the end of the statement with the PM watching and walking out at the end...
This is motion - “That this House has no confidence in the Prime Minister due to her failure to allow the House of Commons to have a meaningful vote straight away on the withdrawal agreement and framework for the future relationship between the UK and the EU.”

Being tabled now
Government will probably refuse to make time for it. Would only feel obliged to make time for a full on confidence vote in the Government that had effect under the Fixed Term Parliament Act
So Government has not given Labour time for this vote but assert they would have won - which is not a great look. And prob will now avoid Opposition Days too.

But doubt Labour will escalate to full scale No Conf vote, because losing precipitates immediate pressure for PV/ref2
Opposition doesn’t have a lot of power in this position but might have piled the pressure on Government after a tough Commons session for PM - but it was all a bit Laurel & Hardy rather than 007
What this has smoked out is fact that the DUP leadership and the ERG leadership whilst sceptical of the claims of any change to Withdrawal Deal, have essentially now given the PM another month’s confidence...
Which is good for PM, but also justifies some caution on NC from Labour
