One big obstacle to compliance: lack of internet access. While Georgia lawmakers plot a way forward on solving our healthcare crisis, a timely reminder that rural broadband deficiencies + high cost in urban areas are real impediments for the poor.
Healthcare coverage should not be yoked to job prospects, but the travesty is made worse with incompetence in an administration or failure to address basic infrastructure concerns.

Today we remember the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King knew that we could not wait for progress or yield to injustice. He used protest and the power of the word to create change in our nation. 1/x
But we have not yet fulfilled the dream he so powerfully described. And in 2019, we must recommit ourselves to seeking freedom and justice. 2/x
We have the power to create change– by registering to vote, by volunteering in our communities, by speaking up when we witness a wrong or by stepping aside to give the silenced a chance to speak out. 3/x

I am so proud of the movement we built. Together, we redefined the politics of possible in the Deep South – but our fight is far from over. #gapol
When we kicked off our campaign in Albany almost a year and a half ago, we were told we would never win the Democratic primary. When we did, the pundits and pollsters said that a candidate like me in a state like Georgia would never poll above 30%. We did.
And when they said this race would be a walk for Republicans, they shifted Georgia from “Safe Republican” to “Lean Republican” to “Toss Up” in the same breath.

Beyond the pundits, beyond the polls, and beyond party labels, we fought because we believe in Georgia.

you can gain the weirdest insights into a company by looking at the jobs they have available. i've def scrolled past some stuff in gn's career portal that's made me do a double take: facebook.com/careers/
just as a blanket statement; i noticed while scrolling through their sites that there's oodles of jobs involving market research or data analytics. meanwhile, i could find maybe like a handful of jobs geared towards clearing up the disinfo running rampant on the site.
imo, this tells a story: fb is way more focused on getting that sweet sweet ad revenue, rather than tidying the hellscape it's created

One of the things I did today: investigate opportunities to volunteer at food banks throughout the next month.

I’m hopeful about Tuesday. I’m hopeful it is the a step towards righting our country’s ship.

Yet, I’m also aware that there’s a chance it may be less good news than we want.

One thing I learned from going through some serious sh** is that the best way to get up is to not stay down long.

If, god forbid, we should fall short on Tuesday, there will be many who will be down.

I’m going to draw them close and be there.

Nothing triumphs over grief like human connections.
