I’ve read fencists try to defend the indefensible. The point here is clear, keep @inecnigeria free from families & direct ties to a bigoted ruler seeking to perpetuate himself in power. Even if GEJ appointed her, now that she is conflicted must she be retained? 🤔
Amina Zakari, aside being the daughter of the elder sister of PMB, is also an elder sibling to Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika & related to Ministers of FCT & Commerce (State). Her late husband's younger brother is currently the DG of NYSC.
So much for conflict of interests & hegemonic nepotism. Do the President’s Family now the owners of Nigeria?! Why are seemingly educated folks defending the indefensible? Is this not hegemonic corruption with monumental consequences? Same folks will ask how we got here in future.
They started with appointments of families across MDAs and in less than 2years grand heists proliferated the entire sectors. DG of NSRMEA who is also a relative of the President has been defrauding the Directorate & falsifying documents to remain in office.
This was exposed back then but connected folks to power can never be deemed corrupt. 👉🏽
Shame on the seemingly educated who deliberately miss the point to look good or attract favors. Nepotism is the worst form of corruption and that is what is strangulating our governance. Privileged folks are simply enriching themselves while the authority looks away.
For those twisting this to create a distraction. No one is denigrating Mrs Amina, if she has integrity she will step down from this based on the uproar. Like a judge would recuse him/herself from cases that may expose her/him to congluct of interest. The perception alone is bad.
Even if she is professional, the link alone is enough not to get involved if there be any sense of responsibility. Most of the cases I fight for publicly has nothing to do with my family or people I know from Adam. Imagine if our Advocacy was based on personal interest...
...not to mention a job bordering on National interest with felons known to be copiously corrupt as demonstrated with bigoted nepotistic appointments that has claimed the lives of thousands of Nigerians since meritocracy has been ostracized across security institutions.
The very same people who doubted that #EndSARS was genuine despite he transparency are now building a case for Amina Zakari who they perceived as occupying a destined position she can not afford to relinquish despite the general perception of her relationship with the President.
This is not about politics but authenticity and integrity. @inecnigeria is proving daily not to be worthy of our trust and I believe @NGRSenate @HouseNGR will do the needful in this regard. Nigeria belongs to all of us not to the family of serving Presidents. Enough is Enough.
In our respective disciplines, there are things we know our family members can execute but for conflict of interest these tasks are outsourced to other capable firms not because we are dumb or unwise but because we value our name and integrity. But look at the Presidency...
