Paul Manafort's lawyers acknowledge that he failed to tell investigators about some conversations with Konstantin Kilimnik, who the FBI has linked to Russian intelligence. His lawyers said they "happened during a period when Mr. Manafort was managing a U.S. presidential campaign"
Bottom line from Manafort's lawyers: They don't want a hearing on whether he breached his plea agreement, though they say he didn't lie to investigators. The want to leave the issues for the court staff that'll prepare his pre-sentence report.

There's now a not-quite-so-secret D.C. Cir. opinion in the mystery Mueller grand jury case.
Whoever the mystery company is, it's been ordered to pay $50,000 a day in fines until it complies with the grand jury subpoena. But the accrual is stayed while appeals are pending.
Whatever the mystery company is, it's conducting "general commercial activity in the U.S."

Lawyers for one of the Russian companies charged over election meddling continue to file peevish things in court, this time about how unhappy the judge seemed to be about previous peevish filings ->
The lawyers say they've been getting threats ever since the judge faulted them for unprofessional behavior. Some were "whipped into their frenzy by a cable television entertainer unknown to undersigned counsel named Rachel @Maddow."

This first count #Manafort admits to is violation of 18 USC § 371, "Conspiracy Against the United States."

What does that mean? He conspired to commit a crime against the US or to defraud the US:
A conspiracy, definitionally, requires more than one conspirator. Who did Manafort conspire with? The first paragraph dealing with Count 1 names Richard Gates and Konstantin Kilimnik "and others"
