This is so frustrating @ Moon gov’t. His election, on the back of a huge scandal revealing much of what is wrong w/ S Korean politics, was a huge, possibly unique, opportunity to finally make K easier to live in for regular people - to discipline the gov’t-corrupting chaebol, /1
to clean the air, to attack the for-profit cram school industry which drives Hell Choseon, to attack the cartels & mercantilists who make everything so exorbitantly expensive & drive the household debt crisis. But no, Moon blew all his political capital pursuing a hugely /2
divisive NK detente which the Kims will never really sacrifice for and which has the SK right convinced Moon is a pawn of Pyongyang. The SK right is reactionary, corrupt, out-of-touch, and mccarthyite. Moon could have revolutionized SK. What an enormous missed opportunity. END
