If there's no Brexit deal, you are likely to have to carry a green card to prove you have car insurance when driving in EU and EEA countries. You may also need a second separate green card if you're towing a trailer.

There may yet be a Brexit deal, of course, or a mini-deal might be agreed to remove the need for green cards. But as things stand today, you *will* need to carry them after Brexit Day. Something to think about as you're planning your spring getaway or summer holidays.
The Department of Transport estimates that there will be between 2 and 4 million vehicles affected by this new requirement each year, after we leave the EU. That's unique vehicles (the number of journeys is likely to be higher).

Note that we are talking about an actual physical piece of paper, not just a digital green card. So you need to consider that it may take a few days or weeks to issue, depending on the insurer and their process in place.

Tories rubbish. Labour rubbish. Loopy Brexiter off the scale babbly. People who actually knew what they were talking about clear, coherent, moving the discussion productively along. Decent audience comments. Showed up the desperate weakness of politicians in the face of Brexit.
And Fiona Bruce did a better job of trying to press the MPs to answer the questions they absolutely categorically did NOT want to answer. Not great, but good.

Swedish Democrats have reversed course and, despite running on a manifesto to leave the EU last year, now want Sweden to stay in and work to reform the EU instead. (Article in Swedish)

It's amazing that Brexit in the far distance is enough to scare them off trying to take Sweden down that route, yet Brexit all around them does nothing to change the mind of many of our MPs...
In general, attitudes to the EU have dramatically improved in the EU27 since the 2016 referendum that plonked us on the path to Brexit. Brexit as a unifying force. Ironic.

Brexit already doing massive harm to the UK. Over 200 examples of job losses, lost investment, police & army prepping, companies moving assets to the EU or redomiciling. Meanwhile, the Government burns through £billions chasing a nutty no deal Brexit. Real life, not project fear!

EU citizens will be obliged to register to stay in the UK after Brexit (deadline is June 2021). The registration system, which cost the Government £175 million, will have to cope with over 3,500,000 applications, or several thousand a day on average. 2/205

So. Tomorrow the House of Commons will vote on a series of possible amendments to Theresa May's 'Plan B' - or rather the 'plan of action to achieve a Plan B' - which itself officially reads as follows:
The amendment most likely to pass – and therefore the one on which most attention has been paid – is this one from Conservative party chairman Sir Graham Brady. It's effectively an instruction to go back and seek *some unstated other way* to avoid a hard border in Ireland:
Tonight, Theresa May has asked her backbenchers to vote in favour of this amendment. She is basically asking them to tie her hands, so that Brussels will clearly know what it would take to win the Commons' backing for any deal.

Despite her #BREXIT deal being defeated by biggest margin a government has lost a vote ever maybot seeks concessions on backstop despite being told to bog off by the EU with no realistic hope of a different answer
Corbyn meanwhile refuses to talk #BREXIT without no deal being ruled out despite knowing she can't do this whilst maybot makes no concessions either.

Albeit largely technical, agencies will have huge implications on Brexit.

Five points stand out in particular:
First, Agencies matter. Like the customs union, they are a technical aspect of the EU, that works and was thus hardly discussed in the UK before #Brexit.
But they are important for single market, but also justice and home affairs.

UK gov thus has already asked to continue participation in selected agencies, in particular in sectors important to the UK economy, like aviation, chemicals or pharma.

1) Thread - All Brexits are bad and what we voted for
It's often said by brexiters that "it's not all about economics"
However, the *actual* Leave campaign was almost wholly about economic arguments

With the leak of this 2-8% report those arguments are now trashed
2) We seem to have forgotten this however economics played a huge part in the Vote Leave campaign, making up over 2/3rds of the primary arguements. The clear message was we would at the least be no worse off and at best much better off. 4 of the 6 below state this clearly
3) & the fact is voters believed we would be no worse off. People prioritized immigration certainly, but against a backdrop of there being no consequences from Brexit - few are prepared to actually pay for ending FoM
