Firstly, they admit it was a #US plan, so all those apologists talking about this being a grass-roots movement from #Venezuela should probably stop. This has nothing to do with the Venezuela constitution, and everything to do with oil and regional power. 2/6

Second, it's been obvious for a while that the #US blew their wad on #Guiado, expecting the military to take his side. When they sided with #Maduro the plans totally stalled. The plan was to install him, and declare him as "official" in the hopes of quelling int'l objections. 3/7

Step 2 of their plan failed without military support, but they proceeded to try and carry on - which is why you have this farcical situation with #US, #EU et al. "officially recognizing" a President of #Venezuela who has almost literally zero actual political power. 4/7

All the talk about "negotiation" and "action groups" and the like is just white noise. Hoping to fire enough buzzwords out that the truth gets lost: #Maduro won, he is still President of Venezuela. There will be debates in #DeepState about how to progress. 5/7

One option is a tactical withdrawal - keep primping #Guiado in the media, wait for the new sanctions to hit, try and bribe some military officials and hope the coup works out next time. If they choose that, expect #Venezuela to fade from the headlines for at least 6 months. 6/7

Other option is to stoke violence and/or carry out a falseflag on "anti-Maduro protestors". Ship in arms and men and start a civil war. Essentially create a new #Syria in #LatinAmerica. #Neocon hawks like #Bolton and #Abrams doubtless prefer option 2. Tense situation. 7/7
