Facebook is 15 today. I am not writing anything special because I feel like I've spent more than enough of my time responding to their really egregious errors.

what it is and why it's important!
A reverse image search lets you take any image and find out if an image is original, and if not, when and where the first instances of it on the Internet were.

I used it to uncover inauthentic accounts for my @BuzzFeedNews investigation in the fall: buzzfeednews.com/article/ninaja…
It can be useful when trying to determine if an image has been faked, or as is increasingly common these days, repurposed (often happens with natural disasters, wars, events threatening public safety).

Some thoughts below:
Some thoughts:

1. The real damage from groups like the IRA happens not on E-day, but months and sometimes years before. Recall that some of the 2016 operators had been running for more than a year before the election. FB just took down inauthentic accts *from 2013* in E Europe.
2. This, from Sen. Rounds, is misleading. Unless he’s alluding to another CyberCom operation, the IRA doesn’t have the ability to conduct “cyber incursions.” They deal in social media, not hacking.

I started writing a reply to this, but it's quickly turning into a whole thread, so I'm gonna spare @DungeonCommandr's mentions, and QT instead.

Let's talk about podcast promotion. I've been on both sides of it--I've run an AP pod for 3.5 yrs, and promoted a game on other shows.
A lot of people will throw out "pitch your game to podcasts" as advice. And it's really solid advice! They're right to say it.

But, I want to talk today about what that looks like on a practical level, and how to make the most of having your game featured on pods.
1. RESEARCH

Make a note of the podcasts you see on the TL, or that friends/designers you like appear on. Keep a running list of shows you know of. Give a listen if you can, even if just to an episode or two.

#Khashoggi Case Thread: I am going to ‘pin’ this post to use it as an ‘Info Thread’ on the #Khashoggi Case. I am in #Turkey. I’ve been following the case closely and with access to sources & experts here. This is a very ‘sensitive’ criminal case due to ‘Diplomatic Booby Traps’!!!
The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.

Jack says political twitter is divisive lol yeah it is. It's awful. That's not twitters fault though, that's the political discourse pushed by the fake news media 24/7 with sirens blaring riling everyone up. "You want to walk away" from it he says. There's a block button for that

After 70 years of imperial/neoliberal indoctrination the web of lies is so obviously absurde (9/11, Skripal, WH = ISIS, etc.), that it is dissoluting. The empathetic humanity connects, closes ranks and sends their eternal psychopathic rulers and their lackeys into nowhere land.
The "evil empire" is a lifelong three year old child. I certainly loved my children at that age too, however only because they created not only a surreal mess, but also made steady progress.

A great documentary about psychopathy and society:
The elite invented "democracy" to protect them from the empathetic people. The media are their means for misleading the people sedated by "democracy". This is definitely a bad thing since the people have become educated and the elite almost totally insane.
