How about a quotation for those who keep saying that the modern GOP is the "Party of Lincoln" ? 👇

(2/3) Abraham Lincoln was a liberal—but not as far too left as many of his contemporaries, for example, William Lloyd Garrison.

In my book I characterize Lincoln as a "practical statesman and not an idealist," following the lead of scholar LeWanda Cox, and actually quoting her.
(3/3) What makes the claim that the modern GOP is the Party of Lincoln even more absurd is that the modern GOP is no longer conservative.

The word I was taught in school was reactionary. I use "RWA" for right-wing authoritarian. More here👇
