I wonder - might any of those GOP databases @VickerySec found indicate if someone was both a gun enthusiast AND ineligible to vote because of past convictions?
I mean, the federal government seems the logical place to cross-check weapons and past convictions in other jurisdictions...

of course, though, conservatives are so against having a central US Identity and letting the US Govt know if they own guns, how many, and what kind...
Dunno, it's just so weird to me that they are okay with the politicians that run government having access to that information from private sources so they can use it for profit.
And that they don't mind if Russia gets that info from the GOP, just not from the federal government...

I really can't get my head around it.
