As we get ready for the Mueller Report, it’s important to remember Robert Mueller is a lifelong Republican. He’s not a partisan searching for political gain. He’s an investigator doing his duty to the best of his ability.
Everyone can root for him to find things, that’s fine, but don’t let the Right paint him as a liberal champion. That undermines what is a fair and non-partisan Investigation.
Nuance is almost impossible in this climate. Trump tries constantly to paint Mueller as biased and undoubtedly networks are going to cover this like a clash of individuals. It’s all set up to feel like a dichotomous battle. Remember the facts.
Robert Mueller is a Republican and a servant of the law. You might be a liberal and you might be rooting for him to find something, but this isn’t a liberal crusade or a liberal attack. It’s nonpartisan reality.
This is going to be an extraordinarily important distinction to make in the coming weeks and months. An EXTRAORDINARILY important distinction as Trump and Republicans try anything to work against what’s coming.
