The Guardian's greens think their view is based on 'science'. So to have some other people in history, though theirs was the 'scientific' way to organise society.

They are equally wrong. They are equally ideological -- not scientific.

The Nazis, too, were big on the mystification of nature. They believed a natural order existed. So do greens. They believe there is a 'balance', which if upset, will bring chaos to the world.

That is just one, of several hundred reasons why we should be suspicious of environmentalists*.

(* which is not to say that anyone who has concerns for the natural world is an environmentalist -- I am *very* particular about the word.)
