What is being called "vindication" today is the acceptance not only by Trump but by the conservative world - and slices of the hard left too - of the most successful clandestine foreign perversion of a US election in US history.
The conservative vindicators are concerned to protect Trump. The hard-left vindicators are concerned to protect Putin's Russia. Who is concerned to protect America?

@TheAtlantic To one complaint, I'll reply here. I wrote that America was "built" on the idea that workers should also be voters. Many have objected that it was not "founded" on this idea.

Believe it or not, I'm acquainted with the history of voting rights in the USA. From Trumpocracy, p 141
@TheAtlantic A "foundation" is what you have at the start of the construction process. A "building" is what you see rising nearer the end of the process. The US was not "founded" as a democracy. But over the decades, the country you know has been built on that idea - imperfectly as I also say

A thought inspired by @piersmorgan 's tweet: Brexiteers imagine the EU as an entity, endowed with plans and purposes, a continental power heir to Philip II, Louis XIV, Napoleon, etc. etc.
@piersmorgan That imagination has led Brexiteers to a series of dangerous mistakes about what is possible between UK and EU. It would be better to imagine the EU as a corpus of rules and regulations issued over decades - more like the Federal Communications Commission than like Philip II
@piersmorgan With the EU, there really isn't an "it" to negotiate with. At the beginning of the process, Brexiteer friends told me this wd be a huge advantage for UK: EU is hopelessly divided, sluggish.

But that's not an advantage to *you* if you're the one who needs the EU to do something
