1/ Mea culpa: A couple of days back I tweeted a short thread premised on the assumption that the signatures on DOJ's ACA notice on Monday reflected an inability to find any career DOJ lawyers who'd agree to make the arguments. I should have reviewed the docket first:
2/ Hunt, Shumate & Totaro have been the lawyers on DOJ filings all along, back to January. So Monday's filing doesn't say anything one way or the other about the willingness of other DOJ lawyers to participate. It remains an awful, indefensible set of arguments on their merits.
3/ But I apologize for speculating beyond that based upon my mistaken assumption that there was something unorthodox about the signature line. Accordingly, I've deleted those posts. Sorry for leaving any misimpressions.

1/ This decision from the D.C. Circuit today pretty much guarantees--at least in the near-term--that DOJ won't ask Chief Judge Howell to authorize release to Congress of grand jury materials in the Mueller report.

2/ But that was never a realistic prospect, anyway, in light of DOJ's current view that courts have no such inherent power. Importantly, this *does not* mean that there should be major redactions of GJ info from the Mueller report.
3/ It's unlikely there's much in the report covered by the Rule 6(e) confidentiality requirement to begin with--and what *is* covered can probably be disclosed to HPSCI and SSCI, at a minimum, under 6(e)(3)(D). More soon.

1/ No, Barr couldn't have been "rolled" because *he's the decision-maker,*not merely one voice at the table, as the Politico story implies. He has the statutory authority to decide what argument the U.S. will make.

2/ ... (iii) But there probably won't be much in it we don't already know. And (iv) other "reports" are potentially far more significant and might be made public (at least in part). Although (v) those other reports probably won't (expressly) state whether Trump broke the law ...
3/ ... (vi) they very well might give us details about what Trump did in the past and, much more importantly, whether he's compromised w/r/t the Russian threat now and going forward.

[Short Thread] So I just went to drop my car off for a service, then jumped in the courtesy bus to get a lift back home.

The guy looked like he was having a bad day so what did I do?
I told him a few jokes to break the ice, then he started telling me about his son & where he's taking his #career.

His whole mood completely flipped up on it's head as we drove through the city - it was incredible!

So how can you take this into your life? Well..
Instead of always making things about yourself, let OTHERS speak.

Analyse how people think, then give value

See I took the time to listen to him & it literally turned his day around - that's what really makes a difference - just listen to people and let them tell their story 🎉

THREAD: For those who still don’t understand how important the #ACA #TexasFoldEm case is (along #StopKavanaugh), here’s a simple timeline of the ACA’s 3-Legged Stool:
1/ Here’s how the #ACA’s 3-Legged Stool was *supposed* to work when the law was passed. The blue leg includes the patient protections. The red leg is the part everyone hated but which served an important purpose. The green leg is the financial help for people to pay for it.
2/ This is what it ACTUALLY ended up looking like: There were two main problems. The financial assistance was cut off at 400% FPL income (& wasn’t generous enough), and the mandate penalty wasn’t strong enough to be fully effective. Both were EASILY fixable.
