So I read a new report about "a vast social media influence campaign" to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest that was published by the Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs. It's a 59 page report that claims bots were used in campaign. There's very little proof provided. 1/
They are quoting some oddly precise numbers. "232 fake accounts including 166 bots & 41 trolls" 🤨 even if those numbers are legit - that's hardly a "vast social media influence campaign"

So they wrote a 59 page report about two publicly announced Twitter storms. 2/

I was confused about this cluster connected to the brand new & mysteriously verified "National Vzla Communications Center"@Presidencia_VE because there's a fake La Patilla in there. Turns out the "alternative TSJ" account tagged the fake media account + a bunch of other people.
TLDR: Venezuelan social media is a MESS
The "Legitimate TSJ" account (created August 2017) has more followers than the real TSJ account (created in 2010). Who wants to bet this account creates some mass confusion in Latin America? 🤔
