Awed, humbled, proud (can I be all three at once?) to have these women & men behind me. And chilled & angry thinking about the ones who are not here - kicked off twitter for stating facts @jsoosty, Meghan Murphy, Posie Parker, Miranda Yardley, Venice Allen, Maria Maclachlan...
. @SamBarber1910 keeps the list of people (mainly women) suspended or banned from twitter for such wrongthink as quoting government statistics
If you werent aware of this, but were shocked by what has happened to me, this is your eye opener. So many people I talk to say 'the debate is toxic, both sides are bad', but Twitter is banning ppl for stating facts while allowing violent threats. These are not equals
Read the comments on my crowdfunder (click on tab & scroll) crowdjustice.com/case/fired-may…. So many people giving £25 to a stranger because they feel frightened of losing their job if they speak up any other way. Such a failure of mainstream orgs to stand up for their constituencies. 
If you care about open government, transparency, accountability, public participation you should care about this. If you care about the state of the left you should care about this.
If I win my case it will also mean that social media platforms, in the UK would have to think again about discriminating against people for gender critical beliefs. And political parties and membership organisations. And meeting venues.
They should already be heeding the Equality Act ...But many leave *sex* out of their equality policy. As @joannaccherry pointed out to @katyminshall @twitter excludes sex as a protected characteristic & tolerates violent threats to women
Joanna Cherry's questioning of Twitter was extraordinary. (Not least because an MP saying ‘f**k’ & ‘c**t’ in parliament ought to be newsworthy). @jameskirkup did a great write up blogs.spectator.co.uk/2019/05/at-las… - but otherwise it barely made the papers
If you are wondering why so many, mainly left wing progressive, feminist women are standing up and challenging what seems like inclusivity. It is not to be mean. Its not to make people feel bad (& many will use whatever pronouns in a social setting that make ppl comfortable)
Its about the ability to describe what is going on, and the power involved. And what is going on Twitter is that women are being silenced, threatened and abused for speaking out about male violence & about the mental health of vulnerable young people.

If you thought this was about being pro- or anti-trans, or about feminist infighting or twitter skirmishes you haven't been paying enough attention. That's understandable. Because we are all busy & the media & orgs you trust didnt tell you this matters
I am putting myself on the line to tell you this matters. I am not asking you to take sides against CGD. I am not asking you to determine the facts of the case. Thats for the tribunal judge to decide. I am asking you not to look away.
