Trump's #Venezuela embargo is far worse than the one imposed on Saddam, who was still allowed to sell 2 million barrels of oil a day. And Saddam was allowed some access to the nation’s foreign bank accounts. #HandsOffVenezuela
The #Venezuela embargo is brutal — no food and medicine, no spare parts allowed to fix essential infrastructure such as the subway, electric, and water systems. As the UN rapporteur said, this is a medieval siege. #HandsOffVenezuela
Is Maduro a great guy? Is he a wonderful democrat? Nope. Is he competent? Not very. Chavez would've cut a deal—he did many, quietly. I know Maduro, he's inflexible. But Venezuelans don’t want Donald Trump, Donald Tusk, BP or Exxon choosing their president. gregpalast.com/venezuela-the-…

No Party Preference voters face massive impediments in the upcoming primaries. If you register as a NPP voter and want to vote in the upcoming Democratic primaries, you can pretty much kiss your ballot goodbye. The chance that it will count is damn slim.
The Democratic Party establishment does not want #NPP voters to vote in the #primaries. And if you do vote, they don't want to count your ballot. So how do you get around this problem? It's easy: Register as a Democrat. via @Fiorella_im @theconvocouch
If you want to vote in the upcoming Democratic primary, and you've already registered as NPP, go online and you change your registration to Democrat. You can change back right afterwards. You can do whatever the heck you want. But protect your vote.

Iraq may have twice as much oil as previously thought (arabnews.com/node/1275391/b…), which if proven would make it the owner of the largest oil reserves in the world, and a key player in controlling the price of oil. US has 5000 troops in Iraq, and is not expected to withdraw them.
2. With Iraq capable of exporting 5 million barrels of oil a day, that’s $275 million in oil revenue each day, or $100 billion a year from oil exports until it runs dry in 82 years or until humans stop needing/using oil. arabnews.com/node/1275391/b…

There was a lot of news yesterday — including the bit that federal prosecutors believe Trump directed an employee to commit felonies on his behalf — but I just wanted to revisit Trump thanking Saudi Arabia for low gas prices.

OPEC cut production by 1.2 million barrels a day.
The point is: Trump didn’t get anything out of letting Saudi Arabia murder a Washington Post journalist — he only debased himself and our country.

End of the day, Saudi Arabia and the rest of OPEC did what they wanted, which was to raise oil prices.

Art of the Deal not so much.
It’s actually even more stunning than you think. The expectation was that OPEC would cut production by 1 million barrels of oil a day.

Not only did Trump fail to influence them to not do that, but they cut production by 1.2 million barrels.

And there’s still a dead journalist.
