Thread for Christians who want to use their social media as a platform to minister to people and share the gospel
Your most important ministry is your ministry to God. The most important place to be is not on Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Podcasts, it is on your knees in the presence of God.
every word you speak should be from the holy spirit don’t be so eager to have something to preach about that you say something God didn’t release you to say. Remember that there are people watching you and being influenced by you.
Be encouraged! People are going to “call you out”. They’re going to dislike you for reasons that they made up in their head. Your only duty is to be obedient to the spirit of God,as long as you are doing that nothing else really matters. Surround yourself with the right believers
There may also be people who think that social media is not an adequate place to preach the word. That is not your concern - your concern is your obedience to the spirit of God and your willingness to be used whatever capacity and you will be blessed for it.
Don’t be swooned or deluded by your follower count. Remember that God is still pruning you and growing you in every way. Remain humble and teachable.
As I think of more I’ll add. But if anyone else can think of something that would encourage anyone who is new on social media and using their platform to spread the gospel please feel free!
Don’t feel pressured to get involved in every subject being discussed on the timeline! I used to do this but it’s really not necessary! Use wisdom
Regardless of experience, you can speak on anything the Holy Spirit give you wisdom about... but you don’t have to speak on everything just because you can.
Feeling inadequate or unqualified and letting it stop you isn’t humility. It’s a sign of fear and lack of confidence in identity or knowledge of purpose. It happens so extend fractions to yourself, but if you get stuck there you’ll be stagnant, ineffective and disobedient.
