This is about Michigan and Ohio not the Dow.
2/Trump is much closer to losing the 2020 election than conventional wisdom holds. Trump/Rs got crushed in the Rustbelt in 2018, and his numbers there remain really bad today. If he loses any more ground in PA/MI/WI 2020 will be bleak for him.
3/New PA poll has Trump down 11 pts to Biden. 11. This is why WH is delaying European tariffs, trying to get a deal done w/Mexico and Canada. Huge effort to minimize econ, political damage from the China tariffs. Trump w/Jimmy Carter like numbers now.

1/W/a big turnout and the far right parties still on the fringes, was a good night for the European project. Pro EU centrist LIberals gained the most seats; Greens gained too; traditional L/R parties lost ground. More in this thread:
2/Clearly new forces have emerged in Europe to challenge the establishment, as they have here. But Trumpism/far right forces while clearly still material, have lost some momentum. Trump was beaten badly in 2018, polling terribly now; Austria fiasco huge blow; Tories/Farage ugly.
3/Was not a good night in UK for Brexit. Right is in total chaos now, very likely to elevate a Trumpian buffoon. If Corbyn wakes up & allies w/Remain could seize imp space. No sign of anti-integrationist left gaining ground anywhere. Sanders dropping here in US. Liberals rising.

1/Latest European results has Liberals, Conservatives and Socialists at 58%. They got 63% in 2014.. Far right up fr 21% to 23%. Centrist, pro EU Liberals big winner tonight, followed by the Greens. More here in this thread:
2/Balance in Europe btn pro-EU/far right hasn't changed much, but what has changed is weakening of traditional L/R right parties at expense of rising Liberals, Greens. New landscape, new voices but at this point IMHO too early to read this as a weakening of the European project.

My early take on the European elections, relying heavily on reporting/analysis by the Economist's @JeremyCliffe. Europe changing/evolving, not moving right. Traditional left/right parties lose some ground, gains by Greens & centrist Liberals. New voices, new politics coming.
2/UK sees rise of Brexit Party and Lib Dems, Labour underperformance and a total collapse for the governing party, the Tories. If these results hold no real gains for the Greens, but as in Europe a new landscape. Tories/Farage only at 44%.
3/Know this is a bit of a narrative buster but as of right now the alliance which appears to have gained the most in the 2019 European election is the centrist, pro-EU Liberals. election-results.eu

With all this footage from Trump’s latest Klan rally trickling down my TL it feels like now’s a good time to post my footage from Kamala’s Houston rally. As you’d imagine, the contrast is stark af. This’ll be a thread of course....
The rally was held at Texas Southern University, an HBCU in Houston’s 3rd Ward. We arrived about 15 minutes before start time and the line was not only long but tremendously diverse.
Kamala was introduced by former Texas Senator and current Harris County Commissioner, Rodney Ellis. He touted her position on bail reform, first and foremost.
