Vis a vis the latest Harvard story, the question I wrestle with is, as a matter principle, isn't it sometimes justified to criticize a lawyer for which clients they choose to take on?
If you decided that you were going to represent Big Tobacco against state lawsuits, to choose just one example, I think it would be fair if people around you told you that was not a good thing to do.
I also see the ethical force of the idea that once you open that door you end up in all sorts of nasty places and nasty attacks on, say, defense attorneys.
