BREAKING: BBC News learns that all landing cards for all international passengers to Britain are being scrapped from Monday.
Home Office told Border Force staff the news saying "there will no longer be a requirement for any passenger, of any nationality, to complete a landing card."
Home Office had agreed to scrap cards for seven countries from June, as well as allowing access for them through e-gates at airports and ports, but it has now decided to go further.
Immigration Service Union - which represents thousands of border staff - says it's "deeply concerned" at the decision to scrap landing cards, saying it was "assured" it would not happen until new technology was in place to record arrivals data and this "had not happened".
The Union accused the Home Office of "ignoring" warnings from experienced staff despite the Windrush scandal which saw the department destroy thousands of landing cards.
