BuzzFeed News obtained a 50-minute recording from a private event in which Robbins ranted after a woman said her husband was violent. "Does he put up with you when you've been a crazy bitch?" he asked.

Experts on domestic violence who reviewed audio clips and transcripts of his tirades called them “egregious” and “a secondary assault”

Former staffers said they were troubled by the psychological impact of his methods on vulnerable audience members. “People started ‘popping like popcorn,’” said Todd Spendley, a former contractor for the organization.

Robbins vehemently denied “engaging in any alleged ‘inappropriate sexual behavior,’” and said he was “never intentionally naked” in front of staff. He said he goes to “great lengths” to ensure his fans are safe.

And Robbins noted that the woman in the “emotional abuse” audio says she was happy with Robbins’ intervention.
