I'd love to preach unity but establishment Dems are asking marginalized ppl to support a man who was pro-segregation, who scripted the end of bankruptcy protection for student loans, says he has no sympathy for young folks, fucked over Anita Hill & wrote the crime bill. NOPE.
If we so much as mention Biden's record of harming our communities we're red-baited or told we're helping Trump. That is oppressive af. If you don't think we should even be allowed to talk about the impacts these candidates have had and will have on us, stop and think about that.
If you are actively trying to suppress Black folks naming Biden's role in the crime bill, brown folks talking about how Biden wanted to build a wall, anyone talking about Anita Hill, what politics do you think you're participating in? Because it's ugly and shameful. So know that.
If you make a man who has done so much harm to marginalized and hard hit communities the nominee, Trump wins, no matter how much you vote shame ppl. His base will be fired up and mobilized, yours won't. This is basic organizing. Electoral politics is a straight up numbers game.
Those over-discussed leaked emails showed that top Dem players knew 2016 was a change year, but argued they could beat that by *creating* enthusiasm around Hillary's experience. They think they can rewrite the electorate based on what they want even tho that thinking got us here.
Unity isn't rejecting my input about what has affected my life and community and telling me I'm a Russian spy if I don't shut up about it. That's not even the stuff united fronts are made of. That's you telling us to get in our place and bow down. I won't be doing that.
