Let us reason together ....
The Nigerian government knows that it is going to spend say N9trn in the year mostly on salaries. It also knows that the best it can hope to earn in revenues is say N5trn. This is obviously a big gap and looks bad
Everyone involved in preparing the budget knows this. What do they do? Cut back on spending? Or raise more revenues which is practically impossible?
What the government instead does is make up a figure of say N3trn as revenue to close the gap. Everyone involved in preparing the budget knows that that figure is a complete lie. It is never going to happen. The govt is going to borrow that gap
But they prefer to look good than speak the truth.

So what should we say about this? How should we react to the fact that the government is putting out a document it knows to be a lie because it prefers to look good than speak the truth?
Assuming you plan to have your children in Nigeria and they will grow up there, what is the future being prepared for them if the government prefers to look good than deal with the problem in any meaningful way?
Finally, can someone who presides over this kind of wilful deceit claim to have any integrity?
