A lot of times we appear to be in a rush to share our so called 'new year resolutions' in response to that of others. Little wonder why by the middle of the first month of the year, we realise we are back to our old ways. This is June. #Thread
While there is nothing wrong with sharing resolutions, what might be even more important would be a committment to ensuring that we actually 'do' what we set out to do.
This brings me to something I consider a trademark of the great; intense intentionality! The willpower to follow through on what you set out to do without being distracted by frivolities and the quest for fleeting validation.
A person who is intentional is one who has mastered the art of consistency. To be intentional is to be goal-oriented. Setting your eyes on the mark with unwavering determination and deliberately doing what you intend to get done is what gets you ahead.
You cannot be of the crowd and yet hope to be ahead of the crowd. You are responsible for where you end up. Start with your mind. Go for what really matters the most to you. Face it squarely. Ensure you are willing to go the extra mile. Be willing to invest in yourself.
Sharpen your skills. Be willing to add more value. Put in more than you are paid for. Be a person of excellence. Work on your self. Invest in your mind. Cut down on distractions.
Be intentional in every area of your life, including; your relationship with God, your relationship with others, your profession, and your core values. Then watch the changes that will occur as you do these steadfastly one day at a time.
Remember, only those who are intentional actually get intentional results.
