I was convicted of trespassing this week b/c I joined doctors, clergy, uninsured veterans, mothers who’ve lost children & people of every race, creed, color & sexuality to challenge an illegally gerrymandered legislature for refusing to provide healthcare to its citizens.
The real trespassers are the extreme Republican legislators who evidently lied to a FEDERAL COURT ABOUT THEIR INTENTIONAL RACIST GERRYMANDERING EFFORTS JUST TO HOLD ON TO POWER. nytimes.com/2019/06/06/us/…
With their ill-gotten majority in NC, they have continued to deny healthcare & living wages, undermine public ed & attack women and immigrants. No wonder they want to shut down protest that exposes their deeds.
All over the South we see extremist republican legislators hiding behind the doors & in offices at statehouses who strive to chill protest by unconstitutionally criminalizing it.
When the truth is fully out about how they hurt millions of people, it will change the votes at the ballot box and send them home. This is why we can’t stop moral agitation and moral voter registration.
