At his Florida rally, Trump lied and lied and lied about the economy.

Why?

The answer: Trump has a serious disconnect on his hands.

Voters like the economy, but hate Trump's policies and don't credit them for it.

Carlson said a costly quagmire was everything Trump ran against.

Biden's refusal to back off of his comments on segregationists is badly undermining his ability to relitigate our racial past against Trump.

In his announcement, he said, "we have to remember who we are."

Well, he's suffering a memory lapse.

Biden says that the Senate used to be a period of "civility," whereas now you're "the enemy."

James Eastland and Herman Talmadge literally depicted the civil rights movement as "the enemy" for years and years.

Here's the issue with Biden's comments.

If he's going to be the guy who relitigates our racial past against Trump, as his announcement video telegraphs, he's got to signal a recognition of the *full* history of the civil rights movement and the Senate:

Illegal minors can’t be imprisoned w/ adult parents. Bush & Obama released all onto US soil til judges ruled. Rife w/ abuse.

Trump stopped this by separating illegals & their kids, holding both in jails & camps. All to force DC to fix the broken system.

It’s a brutal strategy.
While we debate whether #Trump’s strategy is right (or humane), the facts are being distorted.

Case in point: the holding facilities for kids (both accompanied by adults and those running on their own).

Critics also claim that #Trump’s policies are resulting in kids being lost or abandoned. You see it in the frothy #WhereAreTheChildren cries for justice.
