I’m very sick and tired of this “America has racism in its DNA.”
It doesn’t work, even as a metaphor. The CLOSEST THING a nation could have to “DNA” are its FOUNDING PRINCIPLES, and America’s are as ANTI-RACIST as you can get:

If America has “DNA”—however tenuous—that’s it: “All men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
