ARGH my bike was stolen today. Help:
(1) I cycle into work, about 15 miles round trip. I have always had a 'city bike', i.e with straight handlebars. Should I get a racing bike? Any recommendations for an inexpensive one?
(2) What lock should I get which isn't crazy expensive?
Here's what the absolute *@£%$@£$@£$ did to my lock. I realise it isn't a great lock but I have had it for about 5 years without it getting stolen
Also, please don't recommend anything which is going to cost more than about £250-300, perhaps 2nd hand! As much as I would love to buy a £3,000 bike it ain't going to happen

The way that #Panorama juxtapose the whistleblowers with those who have experienced antisemitism brings home how institutional racism - where processes are infected - has real victims. It’s *not* just about overt racism
I have met some of the Jewish people who have been interviewed and many more who have had similar experiences not just online but at meetings and in the party itself. It’s devastating. These are young idealistic activists who may never get over what they have seen
For people who have closely followed the Labour issue will recognise much of the #Panorama detail. But here it is in its full horrifying expanse.

Excited to announce that the #Rochester Planning Commission has just approved the first of its kind Live Work Space in a residential zone. This has been on the books since 2003, but has rarely been applied.... 1/6
and has the potential to serve as a launching pad program for artists/crafters/makers who desire to live, work and (legally) sell their wares ... all under one roof! 2/6
We feel this outside the box application of the current ordinance will help create more live/work spaces and retain existing spaces for artists in the city. Space, location, and real estate are all primary concerns for Rochester artists. 3/6

 Elon flies from Van Nuys to San Jose in a Gulfstream G650ER about once a week. ~500 nm round-trip. G650ER consumes “at least” 5.92 lb/nm of Jet A fuel. So min. fuel consumption is ~3,000lb. At 6.71 lb/gal, that’s about 450 gal.

 EIA says CO2 emission from burning 1 gal of Jet A is ~21.1lb, so that’s about 9,400lb or 4,270kg of CO2.

Thanksgiving became the most environmentally destructive holiday on the planet 🌎 on so many levels.

Cars emit a pound of CO2/mile. If your guests collectively drive more than 180 miles round trip, it may help the environment if they stayed home and cooked their own meal.
So many stressed-out people at supermarkets loading up their carts, potentially over-buying stuff that will likely get tossed or never eaten, to prep for thanksgiving meals - had me wondering where all this stress (“we must make this dish or do that”) comes from, how we got here?

Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
