Yesterday in America, a bunch of old rich white Republican men BLOCKED a bill to help victims of 9/11 then said the young black Muslim congresswoman who SPONSORED the bill hates America.
The unspoken argument here isn’t that @IlhanMN doesn’t support victims of 9/11 (she sponsored the bill!) or want to help her constituents by, for example, reforming the health care system.
The only argument is: “She can’t be a REAL American because she’s not white.”

It’s a very strange form of patriotism which ATTACKS people trying to help victims of foreign terrorism while ENRICHING people who don’t give a shit.
