Democrats are tired of losing on judges. But they’re caught between trying to stop losing and not doing that.
This gets at what is so infuriatingly frustrating about this dynamic.
I understand that everyone used to play chess, but if the other person starts playing “burn down the house with a flamethrower,” you’re not playing chess anymore, and wanting to isn’t going change that, nor is brilliant chess play going to keep you from getting burned.
Attempting to restore bipartisan norms will not restore bipartisan norms. It will only teach Republicans that they can destroy bipartisan norms this far with absolutely zero consequences, which will lead them to try to destroy even more even faster and even more boldly.
Or: If someone is attacking you with a knife, you don’t get to choose whether or not you’re in a knife fight.

What is the plan when Trump is beaten and refuses to leave office?

What is the plan when he tells his cult to commit acts of violence on his behalf?

What is the plan when they start doing it?

What is the plan when the Republicans refuse to condemn it?

Better have one
And the hits just keep on coming.

We desperately need to elect an opposition that both understands what is going on and is willing to fight to change it.
