Since so many lies are being spread about @TulsiGabbard’s trip to Syria, and her stance on Assad, I decided that I’d make a thread that refutes those lies. Please enjoy.
/ Her trip to Syria was a fact-finding mission, and not only was her meeting with Assad just one of many stops on her trip, but she also checked with the Pentagon and State Department before going. That’s an important part that most people don’t know, or just want to leave out..
/ ..They accuse her of being an “Assad apologist”, and being “Putin-approved”, but they fail to acknowledge the lack of proof behind the accusations that Assad gassed his own people, and that those accusations came at times that would have strategically made zero sense..
/ ..Almost every accusation came when the Syrian military was making huge gains, and was close to liberating an area from US-backed/Al Qaeda-linked “rebels”; and one supposedly happened less than a week after Trump announced that American troops were being pulled from Syria..
/ ..Do you really believe that Assad would take that opportunity to use chemical weapons on his own people, just days after a big portion of the invading military force has announced its departure? Seriously, let’s use some common sense..
/ ..I mean, it’s almost like there’s not already ample enough proof that the CIA has organized a plethora of false flag attacks designed to shape US foreign policy, and draw public support for interventionist wars..
/ ..What’s ironic about the criticism she receives for meeting with Assad, is that by doing so, she exercised diplomacy. Something most politicians in America know nothing about. She is one of the few who believes it’s wrong to wage regime change wars, and ask questions later..
/ ..Saying things like “it’s not that hard to call out a murderous dictator” is disingenuous and misleading. Most of the people saying things like that are hypocrites, because it’s reminiscent of the repeated attempts to get @IlhanMN to condemn terrorists like Al-Qaeda..
/ ..Tulsi has never said that Assad is blameless, and her refusal to take the bait during the interview on CNN last night is mistakenly being interpreted by some as her defending him. Here is her stance on Assad for those who are interested: tulsi2020.com/record/chemica…
/ ..Tulsi should be praised for taking an unpopular stance against the interventionist policies that fuel the military industrial complex. Policies that perpetuate chaos, cause needless destruction, and result in the deaths of millions of innocent people around the globe..
/ ..but instead of praising her, people choose to believe the lies, and then criticize her. I can only assume they must be happy that trillions of their tax dollars are being wasted on regime change wars, that instead of making us safer, have actually done the exact opposite..
/ ..Those who want to criticize her need to get their facts straight first. She’s evolved on key issues such as the rights of the LGBTQ community (she did so before Obama and HRC btw), and she doesn’t resort to cheap smears like the ones that have been used against her..
/ ..People should research Tulsi’s policies, and embrace her appeal on both sides of the isle as being a good thing. She can bring our country together, and her desire is to do just that. Here’s the link to her stances on all of the key issues: tulsi2020.com/record
